Are you ready to have fun?
Are you ready to learn new skills, meet great people, and enjoy some delicious food?
Cookability is a 10-week cooking program designed to help you feel confident in the kitchen. Each week, you’ll cook a different meal, sit down and share it with the group, and take home recipes to impress your friends and family!
Starting January 2026 in 3 great locations – Hobart, Launceston and Burnie, the program is a great way to improve capacity and life-skills.

Everyone will help decide what to cook and shop for each week, including dishes like:
Mains
- Fried rice
- Chow Mein
- Chicken schnitzel
- Homemade burgers
- Shepherd’s pie

Desserts
- Golden syrup dumplings
- Chocolate mousse
- Berry pudding
- Apple crumble
- Pancakes
- Cheesecake

Where:
- Burnie (Tuesdays) 2 Mussen Close (Common Room)
- Launceston (Thursdays) 17 Woodland Grove, NEWNHAM
- Hobart (Thursdays) Suite 1 31-33 Tower Rd, NEWTOWN
- Accessible venues with easy-access bathrooms
When: Week commencing 19 January 2026, for 10 weeks
Time: 4.00pm – 7.00pm
Group size: 6 people (max) ages 18+ with 1:2 support
- Wear covered shoes and bring your favourite apron
Inclusions: 1:2 Support, instruction, equipment, recipes
Exclusions: ingredients ($10/week per person)
