At midnight on 8 July, metropolitan Melbourne and Mitchell Shire went back into stage three restrictions. These are the ‘stay at home’ guidelines. While we recognise the difficulties many face, we understand the need for such measures and continue to closely follow the advice of government health authorities.
Our priority is always to ensure your health and safety—everyone we support, their families, our employees and all in our broader communities.
Our Response
The coronavirus continues to keep us on our toes and we are again implementing guidelines as they are handed down from the government.
After we established the appropriate plan of action, we started making contact with everyone we support in Victoria and their families (if relevant to them) to let them know what we’re doing to keep them safe and explain how the restrictions affect them.
We already have the systems in place, including strict infection control protocols and touchless thermometers to check temperatures, and personal protective equipment (PPE) ready if we were to ever need it. Fortunately to date we have had no positive coronavirus cases at Possability.
Our Services
Everyone living in metropolitan Melbourne and the Mitchell Shire can again only leave the home for four reasons and visiting is limited to caregiving, essential services and for compassionate reasons. You can find our latest update about services here.
At this stage there are no changes to day services that people we support attend. Saying that, we have asked all day services providers for documented evidence of how they are meeting government safety requirements.
Contact Us
If you or your family member uses our services and you have any questions or concerns, please contact your local supervisor for the most relevant information for you. As mentioned earlier, this is a fast-moving situation, often with changes day by day.
Alternatively, we welcome you to call us on 1800 066 066 or email info@possability.com.au.
Before we part ways for another day, metro Melbourne and Mitchell Council friends, please remember that we will get through this. There are still lots of things we can do safely, we have seen so much innovation and creativity blossom over these past months. You can see some of the cool things people have been up to on our Facebook page.
For our friends in other regions who are returning to lives less restricted, we hope you’re enjoying the well-deserved freedoms, but do take care to keep up the good work.
Stay safe and warm regards,
Possability Engagement Team
