The township of Ararat is approximately one kilometre from the house with access to shops, medical centres, sport and recreation facilities and a Picture theatre. The train station that links Ararat with the larger regional towns of Ballarat and Horsham as well as Melbourne, is 700 metres away. There is a bus stop 100 metres away that provides access into the town.

Those who live here all participate in the decision making for the house, and are working on developing their independent living skills. Each person goes to day programs through the week and are very social, often going out and doing activities.

The applicant must be aged 18 years or over.

Support

Currently this house offers support seven days a week and is staffed with a sleepover model of support overnight.

If you are an NDIS participant, you will need to have Supported Independent Living (SIL) funding in your plan.

Funding

This home is an enrolled Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) property. The SDA building type for this house is Group Home and the design category is Basic. Therefore the applicant would need to be eligible for the appropriate SDA level funding in their NDIS plan.

This home would suit an adult with access to the appropriate NDIS funding. This would include the means to pay for rent, house keeping and utilities.
