A shout out to those doing it tough

A shout out to our friends across Australia whose worlds have been turned on their heads yet again.

Many of you in Victoria, Queensland and NSW are still dealing with COVID-19 outbreaks and restrictions. Living in the midst of uncertainty, having to forgo social events and opportunities for connection and dealing with the many other challenges this pandemic presents can’t be easy. Many people have lost their livelihoods and some have, tragically, lost loved ones. Our hearts go out to each and every one of you.

This is also a friendly reminder to please take care of yourself. It’s so important that you take the time out to do some of the things that make you happy and relieve stress, whether that be exercising, baking bread or reading a book. Beyond Blue suggests keeping connected with family and friends can help manage stress, and if you need support to reach out to a friend or medical professional.

We’re so grateful

Much of the essential work we do can’t be done from home. That means our staff are taking those extra steps every day, wearing masks and following additional cleaning protocols, to keep everyone safe. They’re dealing with the strain of instability and having to pause their personal lives, while providing stability for the people they support and their workmates. We can’t thank you, our employees, enough.

Possability CEO, Drew Beswick, said “I want to thank each of our employees for being there for the people who choose our support and their families, and for being so flexible in responding to the seemingly never-ending changes to important health advice and supporting our teams. What we do is essential and the services you have all been providing are having a positive impact.”

We’d also like to thank every person we support and their families. Life is so up and down; one lockdown ends and soon after another one begins. We appreciate you working with us as we put our efforts into getting through this pandemic. Our priority has always been to keep you and your loved ones safe. Thank you for your endless understanding and help in following the changing health advice.

COVID-19 update

With much planning, lots of care and effort and a little luck, we’re pleased to report that we still don’t have a positive COVID-19 case among the people we support.

Again, we’d like to thank everyone in our community for the part you play in keeping everyone safe.

Warm regards,

Possability Engagement Team
