With the due diligence process now complete, Special General Meetings of both organisations will be held on 20 July.
Once the Special General Meetings are held, the integration plan will be finalised and start to be implemented. The joint Board will have their first meeting on 25 July, and it is expected that from this date John Paton will officially become Executive Chairman and Drew Beswick the CEO of the joint organisations.
Work has begun to determine the joint management structure, though it will take several months for the two organisations to formally become one entity.
CEO, Drew Beswick, said the decision to merge has been broadly well received by clients, families and stakeholders.
“People can see that the move will better position the two organisations to pursue opportunities presented by the NDIS and also withstand the challenges.
“We’re excited about the potential created by combining the knowledge and skills of two great organisations.
“We will be able to offer clients a wider range of service options and develop new innovative programs across the state.
Drew noted that the joint organisation will also be able to provide enhanced training opportunities and career paths for staff.
Together the two organisations will employ over 500 people and have a combined turnover of close to $40 million per annum. OAK and Possability will retain their respective brand names.
