
CEO Glenn Campbell said the announcement provides greater certainty to future participants and their families.
“Possability has already witnessed how life changing the NDIS can be for the 150 young participants we have worked with over the past two years.
“We look forward to bringing high quality, tailored services to many more Tasmanians as the scheme rolls out, helping participants to live they life they want and achieve their potential.”
The NDIS roll out timeline is as follows:
- From 1 July 2016: children aged 12–14 years
- From 1 January 2017: adults aged 25–28 years
- From 1 July 2017: children, 4–11 years
- From 1 January 2018: adults aged 29–34
- From 1 July 2018: children, aged 0–3 years, and adults aged 35–49 years
- From 1 January 2019: adults aged 50–64 years.
Existing Commonwealth and state-based services and supports will continue until people with disability start their NDIS plan.
