Leisure and Recreation

Talk to any of our Leisure and Recreation participants and they will quickly tell you about the great outings they go on and how much fun they have with their friends.

Friendships and social networks:

Possability’s Leisure and Recreation Program encourages and supports people living with disability to develop friendships and social networks. We create opportunities to make new friends through fun group activities and participation in events that are already occurring in the community. Members experience reduced social isolation, increased confidence and resilience, and they strengthen their community ties.

Flexible choices:

Members of each group decide what activities they wish to participate in throughout the year. Activities vary according to their interests and the time of year.

For upcoming activities, download our flyers: NW School Holiday Fun Day NW Youth Group, L&R North Spring Program

FAQS

How do I (or my family member) access this service?

NDIS participants with this service in their Participant Plan can contact Possability to discuss options.

People not yet eligible for the NDIS need to contact the Gateway Service on 1800 171 233.

Possability also offers services to clients funded by other means or who are self-funded.

Do I have to attend every event offered?

There is no obligation to attend any of the activities. You will receive a newsletter outlining all the upcoming events in your area, which will give you the chance to indicate your preferred event/s. There is no guarantee that you will be able to attend all the activities requested as there are usually limited spaces.

Does the Leisure Program cost money?

All fees are kept to a minimum to ensure that everyone has the capacity to attend at least one activity every 6 weeks. Any costs cover your own attendance plus the costs of support staff (which are shared equally). The newsletter will outline any costs and what you need to bring for each activity.
