Chief Executive Officer:
Drew is a qualified social worker with post graduate qualifications in management and governance. He has worked across a range of human service settings in Australia and the United Kingdom, including extensive experience in providing, supervising and directing services and interventions. Prior to taking on the role of Chief Executive Officer in 2016, Drew was Chief Operating Officer for Possability for four years. He has also held senior roles in the area of Health and Social Public Policy and was the State Manager for the Federal Department of Health and Ageing.
Director, Service Management and Development:
Nicola is a trained Speech Pathologist with over 15 years’ experience in Positive Behaviour Support. She has published on staff training and associated client outcomes in the Journal of Intellectual Disability in 2012 and has presented extensively on Positive Behaviour Support at National and International Conferences. She has recently had two articles relating to non-aversive crisis management published in the latest International Journal of Positive Behaviour Support and presents regularly at national and international conferences.
Executive General Manager, Commercial and Finance:
David is a Chartered Accountant with extensive finance and accounting experience in both public practice and commerce in Australia and overseas. David joined OAK Possability in 2016 after 19 years in senior financial roles with Houston’s Farm, Gunns Limited, Bonlac Foods Ltd and United Milk Tasmania. His professional qualifications were gained whilst working with Deloitte where he became a Client Manager specialising in audit. David also served as a member of the Australian Army Reserves for 17 years where he was promoted to the rank of Captain.
Executive General Manager, Strategy and Business Performance:
John has extensive experience and qualifications across IT and Business industries, holding a Bachelor of Computing, Diploma’s in both Business and Psychology and an MBA from the University of Tasmania. In 2012 John also completed the Tasmanian Leaders program and has also completed several postgraduate in leadership and Disability and Aged Care Information Technology.
Prior to joining OAK Possability, John was the General Manager of Business Development and Performance at Anglicare Tasmania. John is currently the Treasurer on the board of No Interest Loans Scheme (NILS) Tasmania.
Executive General Manager, People and Culture:
Janette brings high level strategic HR skills to the organisation. She also runs a private consultancy business, needHRnow. Janette has 18 years of HR experience, specialising in industrial relations, workplace relations, workplace health and safety, and injury management. Previous experience includes HR Manager at Federal Group’s Country Club, Tasmania; RMIT and IAMA.
Matthew is a registered psychologist with 20 years of experience working across Government and Non-Government services. Joining the organisation in 2016, Matthew has a wealth of experience as a Practitioner and Clinical Manager. Specialising in service development and in training staff to support people with complex needs and Behaviour of Concern. His values of compassion, social justice and effective practice are evident through his work, peer reviewed publications and presentations at local and international conferences.
Senior Manager - Child and Youth Services:
Andrew has worked with Possability for 11 years, in various roles including support worker, coordinator, residential manager and more recently as Regional Manager, based in Southern Tasmania. In this role he manages the delivery of services to clients and provides support, mentoring and training to members of the client service teams.
Senior Manager, Disability Services - North:
Oscar recently joined us in January 2018 and has a Bachelor of Business Administration. He has worked in operational management and service delivery roles in the UK, Mozambique and South Africa with a strong focus on infrastructure and processes. He is able to draw on experience from numerous industries having worked for global corporates, SME’s as well as not for profit organisations in both professional and personal capacities.
Client Engagement Manager:
Judy has significant experience working with children in special education and adults with disabilities and has worked with Possability for more than 20 years. She has held various roles from direct client support, to house manager, client services manager and is currently Client Engagement Manager. In this role, Judy is responsible for ensuring that clients have a strong voice within the organisation, are given opportunities to make informed choices and build capacity in self-advocacy.
Jackie joined Oak Possability as Finance Manager in August 2016, having been involved in the disability sector since early 2015, looking for further challenges within the sector as we transition to full NDIS roll out. Jackie has previously worked in public accounting and banking sectors, with commercial experience in the water industry as Manager of Business Services, providing key business support during the transition from regional water authorities to the state-wide model. She is currently finalising a Master’s in Business Administration.
Senior Manager, Communication and Stakeholder Engagement:
Cathy has more than 25 years’ experience in journalism, communications and marketing. Her early career was spent as an ABC News journalist, working across Tasmania, Canberra, and Sydney. She has also worked in government, the minerals sector, the not-for-profit sector and as a consultant. She is relishing the opportunity to use her diverse skills in the dynamic disability sector including internal and external communications encompassing community relations, media, marketing, stakeholder engagement and online communications.
Senior Manager, Quality Assurance:
Ginger has over 30 years business experience, 15 of which have been spent implementing and managing quality management systems in health and health-related industries. She has specific experience with ISO: 9001 and the Attendant Care Industry Association (ACIA) standards. Ginger has a diverse background which includes having worked as a Registered Nurse in the public and private sectors, as a Public Relations Manager for the Hilton Hotel group and as a Quality Manager for a large telephone and web-based health organisation.
